Stanley Goudge of Henderson, long time Justice of the Peace, received the Variety Artists' Club’s Scroll of Honour for his services over many years to the community as a magician. Stanley, over several decades has extended his magic to incorporate educational messages in the classroom, touring schools with health and safety messages conveyed through his entertaining presentations. Stanley has also often performed for charities and at rest homes and these contributions were specially mentioned in the citation to the Scroll. He was made Life Member of the Brotherhood of Magicians in 2006.

Ric Carlyon of Mt Eden also received the Variety Artists' Club’s Scroll of Honour recognising his contribution as a radio and television new broadcaster, producer, director and mentor. “We celebrate his passion and achievements and thank him for dedication to the entertainment industry” the Scroll reads. Ric, a pioneer newsman with the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation, had a career in radio and TV spanning 42 years.
