Premieres for 2 Service Desks

Ric Carlyon - Monday, March 05, 2018

Without lights, music or fanfare the curtain goes up tomorrow on a new performance at Matakana Cinema Complex, one that will be repeated every Tuesday at 10am for an indefinite season. Although no blockbuster, it’s hoped the weekly Tuesday session will prove popular with locals.

It’s the new Service Desk situated in the Matakana Cinema Complex with “production” (rostering etc) in the hands of local JP Laurence McLeod. A “cast” (all JPs !) will star each Tuesday to provide the service.

A first for Matakana Cinemas, beginning tomorrow, repeated every Tuesday

Those seeking JP services tomorrow may also want to take in the 10.30am session in the cinema  to see “Red Sparrow” but it’s the evening offering that seems most appropriate to suit the mood of a new Service Desk, the romantic comedy “Finding Your Feet” - but knowing the JPs involved it won’t take them long to settle in.

And at Albany it’s not about film, but books… the new Service Desk opened in the Albany Library on Saturday last. Sessions there are 10am – noon, filling an “after hours” gap in services already provided by Justices of the Peace on Monday afternoons in the nearby local Board Offices.

Visitors to Whangaparoa Library have a further option to see a Justice of the Peace: from this month attendance has increased to 3 afternoons a week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, as well as Saturday mornings.
