Former Auckland Association Council member Jim Blackman J.P. has died at his Taranaki home.
Jim retired after many years in the television industry and decided to return to his roots in Taranaki which meant he resigned from Council earlier this year.
Auckland Justices of the Peace Association President, Colin Davis, says as a recent member of the Association’s Council, and bringing his experience as CEO of Triangle TV, Jim made a significant contribution to the Council’s deliberations. “He involved himself in all facets of the JP role - ministerial, judicial, issuing officer, nominated persons,” says Colin, “and Jim was generous with his time, vigorous in his approach to tasks, passionate and personable”.
“After he went to New Plymouth Jim continued to take a keen interest in the Association and followed the development of projects he put in train while a Council member. He will be missed”.
