General Election – Voting Starts

Ric Carlyon - Wednesday, September 03, 2014

Voting began today in the General Election accompanied by several campaigns to persuade electors to get in early. Several senior politicians led the way: they have already cast their votes.

Electors don’t need any reason to vote before Election Day, September 20th - they’ll be welcome at any of the early voting places between now and the day of polling on the 13th to cast either a local or special, out-of-electorate, vote.

The simple sign Voting has replaced the old “Polling Place” wording and from today there was a string of signs erected, directing shoppers from St Lukes Mall all the way to the Citizens’ Advice Bureau and into the office there which is a temporary Voting Place.
