The presentation was made by the President of the Auckland Justices of the Peace Association, Selwyn Haworth.
“David is a great example of an ‘active and current’ member,” says Selwyn. “He has certainly been active in his community, Following his service as a Justice of the Peace Trainer years ago, he has been involved as a Boys Brigade youth leader, in the ‘Jane Gifford’ trust, the local riverbank enhancement project and, the Kowhai Festival, to name a few. He also keeps current by attending support group meetings and socials such as the one on Sunday 26th June when his service certificate was handed over”.
“David was appointed as a Justice of the Peace on 4th November 1983, and with his enthusiasm, I am sure he will continue to serve for many years ahead”.

Also partly displayed are two of our new banners - one that is a pavement sign and the other, a pull-up banner more suited to indoors. The Warkworth group were treated to being the first support group to view the signs and to choose one (they elected democratically to keep the pavement sign).
*It’s planned to present a number of Certificates to Justices of the Peace at the Association’s combined Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting. See below for details of this event.
