Auckland JP in High Office

Ric Carlyon - Monday, March 05, 2018

Pat Samson, of Milford, has been elected Vice President of the Royal Federation of Justices Associations at its Annual Conference in Christchurch. Pat has long been a member of the Auckland Association’s Council and at the time of his election he was Auckland’s Representative on the Federation’s Board. Pat is very much a hands-on JP and is regularly rostered as the duty-Justice at the very busy Service Desk in the Milford Mall.

Other executives elected are: President - Rachael O'Grady, Regional Representatives - Northern: Peter Osborne. Auckland: (to be advised). Central Districts: Sheridan Hickey. Southern: Cathy Hurst. Immediate Past President is Denise Hutchins.

Conference venues were confirmed for the following years:
2019 - Marlborough (Blenheim)
2020 - South Taranaki
2021 - Wellington
2022 - Taranaki
2023 - Southland (Invercargill)

Sunday’s business also included consideration of the Federation’s annual budget, the capitation fee, communication grant and the NZ Justices Quarterly: all were adopted by Conference.

Among concluding items of business were valedictories for Immediate Past President Graeme Kitto, leaving the Royal Federation Board after 7 years, and Terry Byrne after years.

Next year’s Conference will be held at the Marlborough Convention Centre in Blenheim, 1st - 3rd March.
